¡VAMOS! Family Picnic
A free family friendly day of live music, dance, stalls, food and fun!
Instantly established as a highlight of the festival in 2006 and 2008 with huge crowds, the ¡VAMOS! outdoor picnic returns to bring a carnival atmosphere to Saltwell Park in Gateshead!
Featuring sumptuous music all the way from Argentina via evocative Tango Gypsy trio Zingaros with their North East debut, a 2nd festival outing for Afro-Peruvian’s Chinchiví as well as enegetic dance and a special carnival from North East collective Rumba NE and Nanette de Jong and her salsa band. Finally a special rare performance by ¡VAMOS! co-conspirator Patricia Oliart and Paco Bethencourt and his Flamencos del Norte group playing Bossa and Flamenco. Not forgetting a Latino food stall by Mckenna's restaurant, face painting, children’s activities and games. All we will need now is hot weather
